GCC visitor numbers continue to grow as Swiss hospitality encompasses everything from stunning snow-capped mountain peaks to historic and sophisticated metropolitan experiences
The Bürgenstock Selection, encompassing the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & The Spa, The Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne, and Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne, has launched its winter packages, looking to entice more Middle East travellers to Switzerland.
Located in key destinations across Switzerland, the Bürgenstock Selection hotels are perfectly equipped to attract tourists looking for a winter experience, combined with shopping, culture, sightseeing and cuisine.
Travelling to Switzerland from the Middle East is easy too! The flight time is approximately six hours and there are currently 11 daily flights from Dubai to Zürich; five from Abu Dhabi; and 13 from Riyadh alone – with the added bonus that pre-medieval and global financial centre of Zürich is less than an hour away from the Bürgenstock Resort Hotel Schweizerhof Bern.
Visitor numbers to Switzerland from the UAE, in particular, are expected to grow throughout the season, after an agreement was signed recently for mutual exemption of short-term visas. Essentially citizens of the two countries do not need visas for short-term visits, similar to the existing Schengen arrangement.
And with travel plans in place, there is plenty to tempt Middle East travellers, with all Bürgenstock properties offering Arabic television channels, interconnecting rooms and suites, Halal menus in selected outlets, Arabic speaking staff, female massage therapists, tailor-made and private trips organised by concierge. Bürgenstock Hotels and Resort and the Royal Savoy in Lausanne spa facilities include a ladies-only spa, while Schweizerhof Bern facilitates spa bookings for ladies only .
Steve Nikolov, Director of Sales & Marketing for Bürgenstock Selection, said: “In meeting the needs of guests from the MENA region, our offer has been tailored to create memorable experiences while accommodating their cultural and individual requirements.”
